21 Jul 06July 21st, 2006 is the day I join this French family for the rest of my life :)

I remember, few months ago during the Spring I said to JB “I want to get married tomorrow” , of course we could not do it even we wished too since there were papers and papers to do. But as the days approached to the wedding, I felt like I wanted to postpone it since time ran so fast and I was like not ready for anything. There was always things that we needed to do, or that we forgot to do! The stress was there!

I started to do the papers (my papers) for the wedding on April with the help of my Mother in Surabaya, Indonesia. It took us about a month to take care of the papers in Indonesia. Then the papers continued here in France, with the Indonesian embassy and “La Mairie”. Finally we finished with the papers at the end of June.

After the papers, the things we had to do were getting things we needed for the D-day!! like the invitations, shoes, the bouquet, organizing the party with the parents, the hairdo etc etc. Though we just had a small party among the family members, still the preparation was quite difficult since we did it ourselves.

Oh my wedding dress is inspired by “Kebaya Manado”, it is actually a long white “kebaya” (Indonesian traditional costume) in tulle with handmade embroider. Instead of wearing the entire kebaya with its skirt, I wore a strapless bustier and a long satin-like skirt. My dress is all made in Indonesia, by a tailor, a friend of my Mother. JB’s ensemble is also a tailored one, from an Italian brand, the suit and the dress shirt have Chinese or high neck. As for the shoes, mine are French while JB’s are English. The bouquet is a pile of seven white roses.

Well, I am so happy the everything went just fine during the D-day. It was so so hot though. I was a little bit stressed during the ceremony at “La Mairie”. Then we droved about two hours to the house of my parents in law in a small town called Véron. We had our private reception there surrounded by close family and friends.

The adventure is not finished yet!! We will have other receptions in Indonesia on August! :) I must admit I am not used to yet with “Madame Gauducheau” when people call me, or when I need to fill out some papers….but I am now Mme. Gauducheau :)

By the way, some photos are posted at my friendster profile. We don’t have “pose” photos, all our photos are candids and so they look more natural, I like them a lot :)
