One good investment on baby’s needs is the baby car seat. It sure is an obligation for the baby’s safety in the car. In France, when you are done with your stay in the hospital (to give birth), and you will go home, if you do not have the car seat, you can’t take the baby home with you. Of course, if you will take home the baby by car. There are various types of car seat that have the European conformity: group 0+, 0/1, 1/2/3, 2/3. They all depend on the age and weight of the baby.
Group 0+ is for baby from birth to 13kg
Group 0/1 is from birth to 18kg
Group 1/2/3 is from 9kg to 36kg
Group 2/3 is from 15kg to 36kg
For our baby, we used the car seat group 0+ since birth to 11 months. Well, his weight is less than 13 kg but our little one is just too big for the car seat, especially during the winter like now, when he is wearing his big coat, it would be too tight for him to be in the car seat. So, we bought the bigger one, group 0+/1. We chosed the car seat group 0+/1 instead of 1/2/3 because it looks more comfotable for his age. The group 1/2/3 looks too big for him.
One good thing with the group 0+, we do not have to wake up or pick up the baby out of the car seat when we arrive at destination. Also, it is attachable to the stroller.
To keep the safety and comfort, the baby car seat can not be used more than 5 years! It should be destroyed.
I wish in Indonesia it would be the same. I guess it is not an obligation to use the baby car seat. Why?
